CNL Commercial Real Estate, Inc., a commercial real estate services, development and investment firm, is pleased to announce that one of its properties, Aventura Optima Plaza, has been awarded Most Outstanding LEED CS (Core and Shell) Project by the South Florida Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council. The award was presented during the2014 GalaVerde LEEDership and Green Awards Program held on Nov. 1, 2014, at the Hyatt Pier 66 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
“We are truly grateful for the opportunity to work with such an impressive group of people for such an incredible project,” said Ariel Bromberg, principal of Mexican architectural firm Arquitectos Brom Asociados, which developed and co-designed the project along with locally based architects Behar Font and Partners. “We will forever be proud of what the team was able to achieve.”
Recognized for its advanced sustainability initiatives, Aventura Optima Plaza is a Class A office and medical project and one of only two high-rise office buildings in Florida to be certified LEED Platinum and the first in Aventura. This designation ranks it among the highest internationally recognized projects designed to minimize impact on the environment. Featuring solar panels, a terrace constructed using reclaimed wood with water features, landscaped jogging trails and a unique glass floor system, the property was also recently awarded Project of the Year by NAIOP South Florida’s 2014 Awards of Excellence.
“CNL Commercial Real Estate is proud and excited to see one of the properties we lease recognized for its outstanding dedication to sustainability,” said Pryse Elam, CNL Commercial Real Estate’s president of development and investments. “We hope that projects like Aventura Optima Plaza will pave the way to a more sustainable and environmentally conscious future within the real estate world.”
